Low Fat Green Hummus

Green Hummus Recipe

  • 1 cup dry chickpeas
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup chopped spinach
  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 small green chili pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 pinch salt ((to taste))
  1. Soak chickpeas over night or for at least 12 hours.

  2. Drain chickpeas.

  3. Toss chickpeas into a pot and add water.

  4. Turn the heat to high and bring it to the boil.

  5. Turn down the heat and let it cook for 45-60 minutes over low heat.

  6. When done put cooked chickpeas and the remaining water in the pot in a blender.

  7. Add the rest of the ingredients.

  8. Blend for a few minutes until desired consistency is reached.

  9. Serve.
